TidBit

This week I signed on for a Sat. farmers market..It started out as a nice day, my grand daughter came along to help....she did a really good job helping me set up the tent and the tables. She then designed my chalk sign , it was very cute and to the point. It opened a 10:00 and things  were going well  till about noon. Then the sky became dark and windy with thunder....someone yelled put your tents down and the downpour came...needless to say I became a drenched rat. I made  Hailie sit in the car while I packed everything up because of the thunder and lightning.  It took quite a while to pack up. When we got home my daughter was there and she helped me unload and put thing on the front porch to dry..I'm signed up for next Sat. and hope it is nice weather.

Great Antique Find

Photobucket

I found this at a church sponsored thrift shop. I usually don't find very many early things, but this is an excellent example of tramp art. I really love it...When I left Pa. to come to  Fl. to help with mom and dad I came to a house with all modern stuff.. My room is the only place that had antiques.  It is still like that but I'm adding my  prim crafts as decor and  it is a nice blend. Well, I need to say Goodnight because 5:00am come around quick.

Front Porch Primitives: Burlap Birds Nest~Tutuorial

Front Porch Primitives: Burlap Birds Nest~Tutuorial: I have been searching for instructions on how to make a birds nest for a really long time.  They all looked so pretty.....and complicated......

Great idea from eighteen25 blog I had to share

my daughter was recently invited to a sleepover with her volleyball teammates.
and i thought it would be fun for her to take a little treat for each of the girls.
knowing how much my two girls love nail polish, i figured it was a safe bet that these girls would love it too.

of course, i couldn't just send a handful of polishes with her.
i had to find a cute way to package them all up.

supplies

    • nail polish
    • paper crinkle
    • large plastic eggs (i got the 2 multi-colored packs at target, the colors worked perfectly)
    • white cardstock
    • washi tape (found at target and cute tape)
    • plastic treat bags (3.75" x 6")

putting it together:

    • place the crinkle paper and polish inside the egg
    • tilt the top of the egg so you can still see what's inside and attach the back with a piece of tape.
    • to make your topper, trim a 4" x 2.5" piece of white cardstock, fold in half and place a strip of tape across the front
    • put the egg in the bag and finish it off attaching the topper with a couple staples

Finishing touches

It's been a very busy day. I have been working on many different things. I had a large can of bay leaves   and a flower pot I had ready for a topiary but I thought the bay leaves would give a nice country look and I had the cinnamon sheep I made for Christmas . I  think it came together quite well. also worked on framing my punchneedle. I still have one more to go.
nuts and  pods
a spring time pot
Still have more to do so it will be a long nite.....but nI have good music and strong coffee..I just hope we don't get  rain at the show.  Well breaks over. Have a good nite everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!

Some photos of Clearwater taken from the car as we are driving

Got to the doctors and she wasn't there because she got sick.............My phone was turned off accidentally in my pocket so I didn't get the call on the way down .......which takes an hour, but that was ok because  I got to spend more time with my daughter who lives down there.  we made a few little cheap items we can put in the booth. We had fun. I wish that we lived closer. Maybe when I retire in a few years or if she has a baby and I have to babysit while she works I will be closer..we are hoping that happens soon.
Off to the doctors and then to see my daughter................apparently she thinks I drive to slow to get to the 12:45 appointment  I think if I leave at 11: 00  .. I should be there,  hopefully no traffic.   Her house is only 15 min from there . Have a Good  Day everyone.

Hi
Been busy all day preparing for this weekend 's show..Got a lot done,  now a break before I go get more supplies. It just rained a little so you can still see drops on the flowers.
 I  just love my camera

Just a few of the gifts in a jar that I made .It takes time to fill and then design the labels. The dog jars will have a bone cookie cutter attached.

I'd like to say; GOOD MORNING as I sit here with my first cup of coffee trying to get motivated. The photos are :
1. my first attempt at decorating cupcakes.......we had to practice making leaves and pompoms.. My one cupcake looks like an alien monster but they taste really good.  Go to    https://www.facebook.com/pages/Hollys-Cakes-and-Cake-Pops/114485371969520 to see some really nice cakes and cake pops. She does a great job. Her stuff is beautiful.
   2. The soap is the batch my grandaughter and I made......She picked the color  and helped stir. Then she designed the label with my help. All in all I think she did a great job.  This is a nice handsoap with oatmeal and cornmeal for texture and to get the dirt , Vit. E and shea butter for the skin.
But then she asked me if we could change the name to S & J & H COUNTRY CRAFTS.
