A beautiful place to visit,,,,,,,my grand daughter likes to take prom photos there, the grounds are really neat. From its beginning as a small cabin in 1845, Chinsegut Hill has seen many changes; it has been the home of four families and welcomed many history-making visitors. Originally known as Mount Airy and then Snow Hill, in 1905 it became known as Chinsegut Hill; where owners Colonel Raymond and Margaret Robins hosted many notable dignitaries of the early twentieth century.
Those who called The Hill home, the Pearson, Ederington, Snow and Robins families, all contributed to the history of The Hill, Hernando County, and the Country. Each left behind evidence of their distinctive characteristics, whether with written words, relics, photos, majestic oaks, or even grave markers. A tour of the Museum will give you a unique view of the past, where history will come to life.
Even the land around the Museum has provided a wealth of artifacts dating as far back as the Seminole Indians. The discoveries were made by archaeologists during the restoration of the Manor House in 2014.
