Mom used to make all of us one every year:
5 -51/2 cups flour
1/2 cup sugar
2 packages rapid rise yeast
1 tea. Salt
1/2 cup water(warm)
1/2 cup butter
4 eggs
Mix 1/2cup flour, sugar, yeast and salt in bowl, add warm water and mix till yeast is dissolved.
Stir in eggs and flour until it forms a soft dough
Kneed on floured board until smooth and elastic , 4-6 minuets
Cover and let rest. ;10 min
Divide into 3 parts….roll each into rectangle 15 by 7 inches……….fill with desired filling…..cut slits in top and cover and let rise till doubled in size
Place on greased cookie sheet…bake at 350 for 15 Min….cover with foil and bake 20 more min..
Mom always put an icing glaze on top
